Cats and Dogs

Do not mix.
My dog barks at anything that moves, glows, or makes a sound once the sun has gone down. So, we bring her into the laundry to sleep.
At night I'm at the computer and to get to the bathroom I have to pass through the laundry. Just now I forgot the dog was in and left the door open, so she started waltzing out.
My cat was downstairs and though he can run, my dog can run faster. When I saw the dog walk out I panicked and ran after her.
She panicked (and began to run faster) and whilst I literally jumped and tackled her (barely grabbing her back legs) my knee collided with the corner of the wall. Thankfully I managed to get a hold of her (all 25 wriggling kilos) and put her back in the laundry.
I managed to scrape off skin despite wearing trackpants. I don't know if I'll bruise. It'll be sore tomorrow. I'm already limping.
So yes, not good to have both a cat and dog in a house. Then of course we have the bird but that's another story.
